Following 17 years at the architectural practice of Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners, and being a past student of the MSc AAS course (University College London), Tim has more recently looked to consolidate his knowledge and experience by redirecting his career interests towards China. With 2014 bringing a move to China, Tim now occupies his position as Design Director at UUA Beijing office. His evidence based approach creates architectural design that not only responds to the complexities of local client requirements and user demands, but remains sustainable within the constraints of the rapid transformation of the urban realm. This quantitative approach, coupled with the design professionals knowledge and intuition, allows design decisions to be reached that better respond to the unique requirements each project presents.
Tim¡¯s experience and knowledge of the architectural industry is both extensive and thorough, as it is through his position at Richard Rogers architects that has facilitated the continued development of his extensive skill set. Furthermore it is this role coupled with recognition of his position as an Associate that has allowed him to continue to make a valuable and recognised contribution to the design process of key projects from this world leading practice¡¯s portfolio of work, projects that include Leadenhall Tower (London), No 1 Hyde Park (London), Las Arenas (Barcelona) and the British Museum (London).
In parallel to this he has taught throughout his professional career, contributing both as a visiting lecturer at London¡¯s Chelsea College of Art and Design, and in his ongoing involvement with the Educational Design Workshops that have been a key element to the success of the highly acclaimed Richard Rogers and Associates touring exhibition. Furthermore he has been invited to teach at London¡¯s Royal College of Art and the Royal Academy, in addition to running the annual V&A Architectural Create Workshops for young people.
