Yong Park

Located at Yongsheng Alley in Dongcheng District, Beijing, Yong Park is at the core of the capital¡¯s cultural zone. The historical and cultural heritages in its vicinity are abundant, such as the Temple of Heaven Park and Ming Dynasty Fortress Park. This design strives to blend the veins of local cultural with modern life. Within the park, there are industrial style buildings from 1970s and 1980s as well as century-old brick buildings created in the dominant style of the era of the Republic of China. In accordance with the renovation scheme, existing buildings have been restored and repaired to retain their historical features to the fullest extent possible as a way of preserving historical memory. In light of the theme of intangible cultural heritage, the design has distilled the most representative cultural symbols and expressed them abstractly in the design of architecture and landscape for the park. The renovated Yong Park will significantly contribute to the cultural creative industry of south Beijing.
