Yinma River Bridge on Tonggang Road in Changchun City Airport Economic Development Zone, is 3500m of straight-line distance from the existing Changchun Longjia International Airport runway. Taking the airport runway as the benchmark, the height restriction of the site is 25m. The bridge is 1220m long, crossing over a 500m wide water and wetland parks on the two sides.
Scheme-1
The bridge is the gateway to Changchun Longjia International Airport, and serves as an important linkage between the city and the airport. Taking inspiration from the aircraft, the form of the extradosed cable-stayed bridge makes reference to the idea of flight, creating a sense of anticipation and excitement. With the road suspended from the primary structure, the bridge also emphasizes the light weight nature of flight.Being a gateway both physically and symbolically to the future, the bridge sets up a progressive rhythm, with the angle creating a subtle sense of forward motion. This is a journey at its beginning, drawing us to the future and new possibilities.
