Track Traffic Technology Industrial Park is
situated within the Technology Industrial District in Tianjin, and its floor
area is around 150,000 sqm. The project aims to define the entire
development as innovative entrepreneur track transportation high-tech Industry
Park. It is to attract passionate entrepreneurs to work and live in the
industrial park through the community complex design.
The park adopts a double-loop traffic system:
the outer vehicle loop and the inner self-driving shuttle bus loop. The area in
between the loops encloses the architectural site. Given the uncertainty in the
architectural function, the design established four main-types of building
modules: multifunction modules, core modules, manufacturing platform modules
and test tracks modules. Different architectural modules are combined together
to form architectural blocks with various functions. Modulating the
architecture not only provides a final result, but a set of design and
construction methodology, which incorporates strong flexibility and
replicability. Even if the design requirements and site conditions change
dramatically, the architectural modules can be rearranged to meet new
requirements.
